I had to swap out my 3.0 for a 94 3.0 when my distributor loosened up and jumped timing. I really should have done a 4.0 swap then but I didnt want to have to mess with a wiring harness

Good Lord. Are you searching at all? The article officially posted in the Tech Library I posted not only mentions the Jet Chip, but merely typing "Jet Chip" into the search engine brings up TEN or more threads with it.

....If it's in the Tech Library, it's been proven to be correct. Stop making excuses and search.

And yet you're asking these questions on a Forum. I could be lying...maybe you don't have to search for answers....and MAYBE the Ford Technician Faerie will sprinkle magic unicorn dust, lifting your truck and budget swapping in a D60 for less than $400.

Try a K&N air filter first before anything drastic (per the tech library). I put one in dad's truck last weekend and it seems to have a little more pickup IMHO.

I recently stumbled across what seems to be a fairly high-gains performance mod while working on a customer's 3.0 Ranger.

I got out and pushed. That thing got so much faster when I did.
