My credo
In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
I like to think of it as "character" :)
Rust, patina, character. Call it what you want. This bench is going to be for fabrication work. So I’m just going to scrape/sand the loose rust and paint off. Then make a good attachment point for the ground lead from the welder and it’ll be ready to rock n roll.

I’m actually trying to get another table. A little bit larger and appears to have a 3/8” thick top. I just can’t get the lady to message back.

I tried to get a couple of those kinds of tables but they sold for (IMHO) stupid prices so far. Think the cheapest I saw was $175. I’d still like to get one or two. Tired of using whatever tailgate is handy or just setting stuff on the ground.

Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Yesterday I spent $24 on four fixer upper DeWalt drills, a nice cylinder ridge reamer, three brand new Craftsman tin snips, two rolls of 3M sandpaper, 2 gallons of 0w-40 synthetic oil, a 60 amp breaker box w/ breakers and a rack mount keyboard tray... it was a good day.

Two weeks ago I bought a nice fixer upper Craftsman snow blower for a hundred bucks, fixed it and traded it to a guy on Craigslist for a hundred bucks and about $350 worth of reloading equipment.

Really would like to do more trading, I got a lot of cool stuff that way.
Big money in snowblower fix/flipping for sure.

What's being sold for 3-400$ in January can be bought for 100$ in the middle of August.

This is what I found too. I ended up making my own from a piece of 3/8" plate that was in the scrap rack when I bought some other steel. I think I paid $20 for the steel to build the table and put casters on it so I could move it around. I planned to use it for a while and see how I liked it before painting the legs and stuff. I'm still seeing how I like it 7 years later...

Maybe she was trying to move it and set it down on her foot

Be careful cleaning that up Eric, it likely has lead, and possibly other things no longer allowed or trusted

Dewalts good. They have the best battery nailguns and chainsaws out of the big box brands. They're 12V and 40V line has come a long way too. Only thing better would be snap on or hilti, which is overkill unless your making a living with it.
I make a living with Dewalt, Milwaukee and harbor shaped tools. Just replaced 8 windows and have several customers on the waiting list

Latest purchase of tools was an admiral 10 inch portable table saw for work and a combination wrench that has 4 sockets on a spindle on each end, covers 12mm to 19mm in 1 wrench

18 MM combination wrench. Why don't these come in the set?
Irritating isn't it? My vw touareg has sn 18mm oil drain plug and in the current process of cleaning up for the wedding this weekend mine has gone 10mm on me so

Does 'could have had tools' count?

Just found out that my late father had a nice laser level. I've been looking for one. I found out as it was described as one of the things sold in the yard sale of his tools and things. Had I known...

Got a pair of jackstands so I can do a pad slap on my truck.

I have a set of 4 already... but the squarebody is holding them down at the moment.. and probably will be still for a little while lol.
