New ranger owner (again)! I am sure I will have some questions over the next few months. Had a 92 back and the day, but just picked up this new to me 86 last week. Stoked to be back in a ranger!

Thanks, bit of “barn find” especially here in Maine. All original, steelies in the garage. Interior is just about as clean as can be. Frame is solid so step one is clean that and seal it. Next, IDK yet? Clean up the paint, decide whether to paint it or not? A drivable resto is the goal. Taking ideas?

Well the last first gen I had that I bought new in 88... after I wore out the drivetrain I V8 AOD 8.8 4.10 swapped it. It wasn't fast... just a whole bunch of fun to drive.

At the end of the day... It's really about what you want. There is nothing wrong with a survivor cruiser... you do you... I'm sure we will all follow along as it progresses.

There are many knowledgeable folks here willing to bounce ideas and questions off of. Don't forget to check out the Tech Library. It can give you ideas and answer many questions you may have.
