Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
Appointment for rust proofing has been made and paid for. The product is New Hampshire Oil Undercoating, cost me 300$. Super excited that it's getting proofed before a single speck of salt can touch it 😀

www.nhoilundercoating.com

Also made an appointment for lift, tires, and alignment on the 16th.

Much excite. Next two weeks are gonna seem like an eternity 😅

I don't think the dog likes blocky side tread; is that a wet spot I spy?
Man... that dog is scared of everything!

Bags, boxes, bottles, brooms, shovels
.. now blocky side tread..does alright with the vacuum though 😋

-Side note.. just redeemed some FordPass points on their set of rubber floormats. The Ranger was my first vehicle that had rubber mats.. and holy cow.. never owning a vehicle without them again.

Ordered a spare steel wheel off ebay, along with the rough country 3rd brake light extention.

The wheel comes from an 05-15 Nissan titan. 8" wide and +25 offset... close enough for a spare!

I actually woke up in the middle of the night, thoughts running through my head about the center bore size... figured I'd get my answer when it showed up..

Way to ruin the suspense lol 😆

Dammit though -__- of course.. and quite a bit smaller too.. 77.1mm vs 93.1. Surprised a full size truck has a smaller center bore than a bronco/ranger.

I *think* my buddy has access to a lathe at work.. gonna hit him up to see if he can open it up for me. If not.. theres a handful of machine shops within 15 minutes I can have remedy my haste lol.

Are the wheels hub centric or lug centric?

If they’re not hub centric you could just open it up with a regular drill bit and be fine.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

Have you priced a 94mm or 3 3/4" drill bit. Or tried to Chuck one up in a homeowner style drill?

Well, a hole saw in a slow 1/2" drive drill would be sufficient... but yeah if you take things literal :)

No idea on the intended centricicity(?) of the Nissan wheel.. but stock bronco wheels are hub centric.

The Nissan wheel has flared&tapered lug holes though.. so between 6 lugs, tapered holes and tapered nuts.. it'll be as close to lug centric as I'll need it to be.

My buddys lathe at work can only chuck up something 6" or smaller though.. bummer. Looks like I gotta call around to some machine shops this week. If I feel like they're giving me a "don't want to do it" price.. which I'm almost betting on.. I'm probably just gonna open it up with a grinder.

The wheels on both of my Rangers are hub centric.

Personally, I’d rather the hub take the brunt of the load than the lugs, though some have gotten away with lug centric wheels on Rangers and RBVs.

How heavy are those things, gotta be close to 3500 pounds, figuring they're 12mm threads for a spare tire I would imagine it would be fine, maybe not for the full time... I don't think I've paid attention if anything I'm running is hub centric whether it was meant to be or not...

Ideally, for sure. The method wheels I have on have a bigger hub bore than the hub.. included with the purchase were some slip on rings to make-up the difference.. and they've been on since the wheels been on.

4300lbs for the 2 doors believe it or not.. and I was surprised at it's rated payload.. just shy of 1300lbs lol.

But yeah.. I'm just gonna go with the ol 'it'll be fine'. Especially considering it's just a spare. I've always gotten off the spare and fixed/replaced the regular tire ASAP so I'm not really concerned.
