was wondering what transmissions i could use out of what year trucks to replace 93 4.0 5spd tranny? direct swap over

any Ranger based vehicle with a 4.0 and the same drive configuration (2WD or 4WD), form 91 all the way up to I believe 2000.

My girlfriend's 2008 Ranger has an M5OD that looks to be identical to my 1991 Explorer's M5OD.
