All,

My truck has been doing this since I bought it and I'm just curious if anyone else has experience with this issue. When taking off from a stop, the truck (transmission I'm assuming) jerks a little bit. It feels almost like something is engaging. The same thing happens when I come to a stop, only it feels like something is disengaging. The jerk is more noticeable the warmer the truck is. In the dead of winter on a cold start, it doesn't do it at all and in the summer when it is hot, it is the most noticeable. Also, if I put the truck in neutral and then back into drive when I'm ready to take off, the jerk is not as noticeable. I recently had the transmission fluid changed, it did this before and after with no noticeable difference. Any help, advice, would be appreciated. Again, it hasn't changed since I've had it and otherwise it runs great.

Welcome to The Ranger Station! Whoops, low post count got me again!

That would be your rear driveshaft slipyoke.

You can take off the accordian boot and re-grease it with a specific grease from Ford (there was a TSB about that). Or live with it. Won't get any worse.
