With a heavy heart I am announcing that I am no longer in a Ranger. I traded it in on a Mazda RX8. I did not want to do it but the cost of fuel was killing me. I will be in other one for sure.

About the RX8

2005 1.3L rotary with a 6 speed manual
Sunroof
Built in navigation
Basically every option except power seats and leather

It will scoot but they were notorious for getting terrible gas mileage. Make sure you have enough oil in it at all times.

Father in law had a rx3 at one time. He wasn't told that they used oil and the engine blew.

Last import he owned too.

I'm still mad my GF got a V6 Hyundai instead of an RX-8

Turbo and 6spd. If I got to drive that thing every now and then, you better believe the oil would be well maintained. Her current car is fast but I've had several rangers that smoked it on fun factor and fuel economy.

I've driven one. Slow as shit. It was an automatic if that makes a difference. I bought this instead...power leather heated seats..only 2, no rear seats. 3.5L 287 HP.

Yes makes a difference, if you drove the standard 4 speed auto, it would have the lower power 4 port engine, his 6 speed manual has the HiPo 6 port which produces 60 more hp.
