with a lot of hard work... (very difficult when i'm on my own. sitting and standing and sitting and standing and going from the one side of the car to the other and again and again over and over again. I'm exhausted.

my caster is 7 degrees
the whole axle is half an inch to the left (but my adjustable trackbar is going to solv this:D)

my only problem is that because i want to put the steering ball joints high, now the steering bar hits on the trackbar axle bracket and i need to find a different place to weld it.

On the axle or frame? I wanna say frame myself. You have gone this far, may as well make longarms for it.

for now, what matters, is the final installation of the front axle and start rolling the car.
in the future i will do some work for the frame of the hippo.
a friend have rubicon express longarms on his cherokee and after this winter he is planning on selling parts or selling the whole car and i want to buy or copy his longarm.

but...
everything is done with 5mm steel
and everything is welded with MIG inside, outside, up and down.
what else can i do?
details?
thanx.
Link mounts look fine to me :icon_thumby:

The only one I would consider adding some more gusset to would be the trac-bar bracket at the axle mount...but it sounds like you may have to revise it anyway for your steering issues.

Keep up the very unique work sir, you are doing great. Do what works for you, not what all the naysayers want you to do :D :icon_welder:

First, congrats on sticking with it.
I don't know much about linked fronts [or rears] but it looks like your upper links are triangulated to the lower links. Wouldn't that mean you don't need a track bar?
Did you cycle the suspension and when you did, was there binding between the track bar and the other links? I'm thinking that the angled top link will be fighting against the track bar as you cycle the suspension.
What size are the bolts holding your links on both frame and axle?

unfortunately no updates.
too much work in the last months and no time for my hippo.

i need a couple of days to finish the rear axle, the steering and the track bar. but no time at all. i have all the parts laying around my hippo and no time to work with them.

all the advises are welcomed. we are doing a hybridic axle here and some times the details makes the diferens.:icon_thumby:
and some times the solution of a problem is in front of me and i don't see it until somebody points to it. :icon_idea:
