I have a 88 Ranger and the switch that controls the outside air function is really tough to move from vent to the off position. It is cable operated and the Haynes manual has an adjustment for it. I adjusted it but it's still really stiff and I took it apart and thr cable looks bent. I found a cable but it's from an 89 would an 89 cable work for an 88? And has anyone else had this problem? I know it's supposed to be stuff but it's really stiff and barely moves

It's unlikely that anyone has done anything with those cables before. At least not and remembers it. You'll probably have to just pull both and see if they match.
