I'm a mechanical engineer with a small machine shop and in a former career, an ASE master technician.
I've got a relatively pristine '03 Ranger FX4 that I use as my daily run-about. It has only 66k miles on it and has lived it's life in our dry climate, so completely rust free.
I figured it was time to join up as I'd really like to improve it's highway & towing performance without losing it's offroad abilities. Highways around here have speed limits of 75-80mph with traffic moving above that and we're right next door to Moab and a lot of other spectacular offroad areas.
I'm leaning towards a modern ecoboost engine and auto-trans swap as I don't mind investing some money in the truck given that it's the perfect size for my needs and in such great condition.
