You and me both! Made it a whole month last time and then the wife asked for the divorce. Just going cold turkey or find a secret weapon? We all quit sooner or later, I'd just rather that time be of my own choice.

A few people at work have had success with Chantix (spelling?).

Good luck with your journey Copper. It's not anything I'd want to go through.

having worked in a cancer center, i like the 'shotgun' approach:
do the chantix, go to hypnosis, use the patch, meditation, whatever... do them all because you don't care which one of them works best as long as it works!
best of luck to you for sure!!!

I wish you the best copperhead. I quit recently and found it takes the right state of mind. I fought myself over buying a pack for week or so, then i gota new state of mind: I'm not a smoker!

and I believe it.

And thats when things got easier.

i was quit for a month. i used chantix and it worked great but then i made aa mistake. i figured that since i wasnt having the cravings bad anymore that i would stop taking the chantix. WRONG! someone offered me a cig when i was drinkin one night and i was instantly hooked again. im a failure lol.

Remember, it's all in your head.

This!

I quit slowly but without any help from anything. Keep your mind focused on quitting and you'll quit. I have cravings almost daily and I haven't touched them for over a year now.

i sort of did the cold turkey approach. i just quit and then only hand one every few months while i was drinking. eventually i stopped doing that. i only smoked for maybe 4 years and most of that was just a pack a week, if that.

when i want one, i just think of a buddy of mine whose dad just got diagnosed with cancer. he has so many tumors they arent even gonna do anything....found out the week before fathers day. 2 packs a day for 30+ years is gonna take you down eventually. that's all the motivation i need to stay off of them.

Well you know well my opinions on quitting smoking as I have posted it many times in the forums.

I wish you all the best with it. Break a leg and hang in there with it! This is the one thing you can win by quitting. Kick butts mister!
