My credo
What's the worst that could happen?
When I pulled the radio I had to pull the plastic surround and one thing led to another...
I used an Armorall wipe on the clear plastic gauge cover and after a few minutes it got cloudy. I thought it was condensation on the inside, so I pulled it off to wipe it down on the inside. It wasn't condensation and it jut got worse. I tried rainx - safe on polycarbonate - it helped a little, but it's still foggy in spots.

There are a couple of 96 rangers at the pull yard so Gen 3 - the IP should be the same ? Or at least he gauge cluster cover?

I think I answered my own questions and the answer is no. I looked thru the 96 catalog and the interior was changed.

Great resources here

Thanks.

For just the lens it can be from a '89-94 Ranger, '91-94 Explorer or '89-90 Bronco II, tach or not doesn't make a difference on these clusters I'm pretty sure.

Just to throw it out as I'm sure you have a tach anyway with a Splash but to swap from a no tach cluster to a tach cluster the year break is '92 when the wiring of the back panel and dash was changed but if you take things apart the gauges just pry out and the speedo is last out and you can keep your stock speedo easy.

This stuff, even though it's for metal, works great on the gauge lens as well as foggy headlights. It's one of those discoveries you make when you have something laying around in the garage and try it, and it works.

I ended up using something similar from Mothers:

It took awhile, but eventually I won. It is very clear now.
Thanks for everyone's input.

I am still going to the pull yard as soon as I am notified of a 94 being dropped off. They are light on pre-96 Rangers now.
