I've got a 87 gl Wagon. I'm not gonna lie, its slow as hell, but good god that Frickin turd could climb a tree. Its carbureted, runs fwd, has selectable 4hi and 4lo. Might not be able to pull out even the lightest stuck rigs, but it never ever becomes a stuck rig itself. Car is an oddball.

This focus is a cool ride, I've seen kip's focus and its a cool ride, nothing added that doesn't improve the car, I trust anything that kip supports. And this bumper should be sick. This is an argument I don't want to get into but personally I think coil spacers is really just a body lift. Doesn't increase travel, suspension rate, or anything except ride height and tire clearance. But like I said I think its a middle of the road lift. Lifts the body, by raising the suspension. Idk what the hell to call it.

I used to own an 85 GL 4 door sedan. It was an ok ride. Ultimately it is why I own a Mustang now, so I do owe it a thank you. It was quicker than my buddies 86 4 cylinder Mustang, which pissed him off so he bought an 85 Mustang GT. One ride his 85 GT made me get an 85 GT as well - and the rest is history.

I wish I were more familiar with the Focus suspension. I'm curious how/if this is going to work. I know somewhere Adsm said it is similar to the Escape, but I've only taken my Escape apart where it attaches to the steering knuckle. I don't recall if the coil can be removed from the strut - but if so, maybe can make a spacer for it there, then the mounts wont need to be altered.

Sent while I should be doing something else

I was wondering if the strut simply removes from the socket (3 bolts removed and then it comes out) I can use washers, 20 or so washers and a foot or two of 1/2" rod iron and maybe some creative welding and see where I get too. Plenty of safety testing WILL be done.

Please do not weld any suspension parts. I'm not trying to be mean, but your welding skills are not good enough to safely build any suspension components. My suggestion to you, just tack weld something together and take it to a professional to do the final welding.

Again, I'm not being a d!ck, just thinking about everyones safety.

Is that the one you're thinking of? I read his build thread a while ago. That thing looks pretty good.

finish the grill and Ive done so redesigns, I am going to make the grill guard detachable from 2 tubes I'm going to weld horizontally to the main bumper, put some holes in the bumper cover and make it look more professional.

I am also working on the overhead lights that I will be mounting to the roof using an old 1/2" rod iron handle to cow stalls, and the lights are the ones I have for sale, all of the parts will be painted a glossy black.

Hopefully be all done in 2 weeks due to needing cutting wheels, jigsaw blades, and paint, otherwise it would be in 1 days work.

I will possibly adding a tach to the car (courtesy of adsm08), and creating a custom bezel for the radio out of wood.

I am thinking of other motifications, ideas welcome. Oh, and anyone with links to good dirt tires that cost less than 200 a piece, give me a link. (or just decent tires that'll do the trick)
