You will have to verify that on your truck... I think I have used both 2" and 2.25", most of my exhaust is my own custom work though. Worst case you can buy adapters at most parts stores and/or have a muffler shop expand the pipe accordingly.

My credo
drives a stick shift ranger
i guess the pipes get smaller since as the gas cools, the molecules get closer together? so the smaller diameter pipe accounts for condensed molecules but also causes the air speed to increase to help with extraction by keeping the exhaust moving instead of backing up in the pipes causing a pressure increase?

My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
... the backpressure thing is actually a myth that needs to die.

This.

My opinion is that (for the most part) unless a v6 has enough compression to require premium fuel.. it's really not going to sound all that great with a loud exhaust on it. Headers help some.. but the ol manifold/magnaflow combo just kinda always ending up sounding like a tractor.

Not a cool tractor either.. just some ol leaky claptrap that spreads shit about in a field.

Yeah I'm not thinking a muffler alone is the way to go. Maybe another project that will be more involved and I'll do a full new exhaust system to get the best possible results.
