Tried looking but can't see those Mazda metal body flares on the Rangers

Not talking about the round "flares", the body metal is forming the flares well above the wheels

I didn't know any Rangers came with that bed... or had the unique b-pillar/window. To me this certainly looks like a B-series truck.

Yes, that's for sure a Mazda bed on there, and Ranger front fenders

Ford Dropped the Flareside(step side) in 2005, 2004 was last year it was offered

Rangers were being dropped as a Ford model
Mazda B-series would be dropped sooner
Wondering if they didn't start putting the Mazda beds on some Rangers after 2004
I don't see any listing in any 2005 brochures and up thru 2011 of a bed option other than Styleside
So not a customer option, maybe a Package Option but didn't see that either

So I will stand corrected that Rangers did come from the factory with a Mazda Bed in the mid-2000's
But NOT in 1999, lol

Mazda B series sales absolutely tanked in mid 2000's from 40k in '98 to 15k in '03 to not quite 6k in '05.

I'm figuring Ford got "stuck" with 5k of Mazda boxes in '05, so put together the STX Ranger to move those boxes. Fancy front valance to disguise that they were unloading Mazda stock.

My daughter's B4000 being one of 1,310 B series for '08 makes it more special than I thought.
