I know this has probably been covered but...Did Ford ever make a revised head(vs. new world head) for their later modeled 2.9.Or was it the same crappy design. I own a vehicle that was mfg in 5-90.Not that I'm worried that my truck is a ticking time bomb or anything.Just curious.

My credo
Failing is easy. Everyone can do it.
The DID (to my understanding) come up with a "Fix" by adding more material to the known weak areas. However? The factory ones still like to crack if you overheat 'em. The world products heads are much stronger/thicker then their ford counterparts.

When I did ours? World products was doing a close-out on the 'bare' heads. Cost us about $175 shipped (give or take a few bucks) for a pair. Just had to transfer over the valves/springs/etc.... along with new stem seals.

the world product heads are 6 lbs heavier than standard 2.9 heads, according to my machinist.
