Is there abuse of power in Government, yes, same as at corporations, and Mom and Pop grocery stores, that's a human thing

But its one of those things you can't prevent just fix it after it happens, so there will always be bad people and some will get elected
When we finally have the Computer Overlords, things will be different, no greed or avarice, or other human failings when it comes down to having "power" over others

"...and concentrate on getting the people under control...".Just remember that you CANNOT bring logic into this discussion, as any politician that attempts to do anything with it will dumb it up and ruin EVERYTHING, I'm pretty sure 98.632% of all politicians do not live in the real world, especially those career politicians that are everywhere anymore... I can understand both sides of the argument but agree with the side that says the best thing to do is just enforce what we have now (or get rid of some of them that make things complicated) and concentrate on getting the people under control...
