After investigation, my Ford Ranger truck is throwing a code 33 for EGR Valve and DPFE Sensor, however the engine has neither. This engine was changed about 15 years ago and has always had a glitch. What suggestions does anyone have for this. Any help appreciated.

If it ain't broke, break it.
First suggestion is to post the year of the truck (and motor if different).

The chassis is a 93, it had the original 4.0 V6 in the truck. I have another 4.0 in the truck now that I changed about 15 years ago. Bad thing is I do not know what the engine came out of the man would not tell me that dropped it off at my house at that time. All I can tell you is that it has a aluminum intake on the top that you have the throttlebody which the throttle position sensor the idle air sensor there is another air sensor between there and the PCV valve and then you have a vacuum cluster. There’s no EGR valve anywhere on this engine nor is there a DPFE sensor on the engine either.Thank you for any help that you can give me on this.

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.
Sounds like the engine was replaced but not the ecu. If you still have the old upper intake with the egr and dpfe equipment, you could put that on and the computer will then see it. But that’s just a guess.
