How in the hell does one get this thing off? I've watched some videos, bought the tool, got the white ring seated back into the female side of the fitting, and the line just won't come out. I really don't want to break the stupid bit of copper tube, because I'm certain that can't be replaced individually, let alone without dropping the trans.

Ideas, gents?

Also I'm convinced most of my problems are now due to the master pushrod being snapped where it goes from metal to plastic (why, ford, why?) So the clutch position sensor won't work, causing the electrical problems.

Thanks Ron. I get my parts in at Napa in a few hours so after I pick them up I'm going to get back to it. Sounds like the best bet is the screw driver.

I attacked it with a small screw driver and got it off. It's all good now. It was really easy to bleed the clutch. I thought it was going to be hard. Pretty much gravity bled itself then a helper pushed it for me while I bled it. Took about 10 minutes all together.
