Did you have extended shackles with the 64" leaves?

I wasn't able to ditch the stock block until I swapped in 5.5" Chevy lift leaves, and I still have a 3/4" block even with extended shackles. But I am between 5-6" of lift with a little rake to it.

Hmm doesn't look to promising then, for what i have. I have belltech shackles, nothing fancy like revolvers. When i did this swap on my 88 ranger i kept the stock 4x4 block in, so i guess i could just do that again. The other thing i was thinking about was mounting the leafs under the chassis, but I'd have too move the spring perches in.

Are there advantages or disadvantages of moving the leafs under the chassis and perches over, or just leaving them where they sit now and build new mounts lower?

The leaves will flex easier with them inboarded but you will give up a bit of stability.

I read a lot of this and I'm curious. Can I use my stock ranger hanger and rear shackles for the 63/64 leaf swap? I looked at the swaps on the tech library. and it looks like they reuse the front hangers am I mistaken or are they using ones off the chevy or the ones off the ranger?

Figured I'd post this. I sell OEM style 64" springs and all other stock height springs for any LT (light truck) The above link is for springs available from 1988-2013

There is NO SUCH THING as a chevy 63" spring in any of my catalogs. There was a 54" and a 56" available from 1973-1987. From 1988 + they were all 64" leaves.

People don't know how to measure a leaf spring. I've argued the 64" measurement on here till my fingers were numb, one idiot following another... Kinda like the members, and Craigslisters, that say they have a 6.5' bed...

I'm more concerned about have a decent amount if travel and a smooth ride put in the dirt..

From what I've read the 1/2 ton leafs and flipping the shackle will accomplish this? How far back will I have to move it to gain more travel an less lift?

Everyone has slightly different final ride heights when using used springs....sometimes you just have shoot from the hip and try it.

There should be NO extra girth. The stock chevy springs and the stock ford springs are both the same width, IIRC - 2 1/2" I didn't notice any difference in the size of the end wrap either.
