Well, I got the hitch on it yesterday...and for shits and giggles hooked it on. It didnt squat the suspension as bad as i thought. I took off with it down the road and you could for sure tell it was back there, it slowed the truck down considerably but taking off on hills and what not that ol 300 just chugged away, never felt once like it wasnt going to go....just took a while getting to 55 :)

The 300 is no match for the 4.7. And a 2008 4.7 is 290hp and 320ft# I think.

Bull SHIT me and a buddy moved 3 singlewide mobile homes about 5 miles with a 82 f100 with a 300 6 your 4.7 can suck it right on the tail pipe given the front wheels were off the ground didnt mean anything. we used a tractor to push the front end to turn

If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.

I hope you are joking....... if not, you are dumber than this post makes you sound. And I am calling bull shit....... I have seen 14x70 single wides moved by pick ups and have never seen one with the front wheels off the ground, and you try to put that tounge weight on an F-100 you better plan on buying axle bearings because they bearing in the F-100 WILL NOT take that kind of weight for 5 feet let alone 5 miles with the front wheels off the ground.

And the 4.9L 6 cyl is not going to touch a 4.7L V8 weather its in a Dodge or a Toyota, However, the 4.9L will hande the trailer Rusty is talking about.

My buddys mom has a 4.7L Dakota. Its faster then his old 300 or my 300 i have now. Ill admit that, 0-60 it'll eat it. I have my doubts on what it would do with a 7000lb trailer behind it though.

My experince with the 300 is, while its not going to move anywhere fast. Its going to move, wheather its empty or with a train hooked to it (ok exaggeration but still).

But my truck does handle it fine. I took it on the expressway and wound her up to about 70. The 300 had no trouble running that fast with the O\D off, but i wouldnt wanna run it at 3000+ for any length of time.
