Well this weekend I found out I should have used a stiffer spring for my C-clip eliminator. The inner shaft popped out and jammed, causing the outer shaft to bust out the cap holding the spring in.... off to the right side of the picture.

I also learned just how flexy my truck is:woot:

A little too flexy since those are 31s and I was planning on running 33s. The canopy makes it worse though, and I had a bunch of camping stuff in there. I think I'll end up with some 32s and a little fender trimming.

I actually have a couple pictures of her ass since she soaked her shorts in Super Clean and got a nasty chemical burn from it, but you're not seeing those. :idiot: Besides, it looked gross so you probably wouldn't want to anyway.

I vote that the spring you used was too long and it fully compressed forcing the cap out. or the cap just came out from the spring pressing on it. maybe not but that's my theory. after the cap was out the shaft came out of the diff.

I don't remember the springs info, but it was stiff-ish. I've heard of guys using valve springs though, so in relation to that it wasn't stiff at all. Now I know more of what to look for. I originally couldn't find one with a large enough ID to use on the outside so I got one that would work on the outside.

Maybe, but I was thinking that the spring wasn't stiff enough so it let the inner shaft slide out where it jammed and when I flexed where I was in that position, it compressed and popped the cap off. I had tacked the cap in 4 spots, but obviously that wasn't enough.

Yep the RAs are working good. Nope, I didn't paint them, the black was good enough for me. And now they're in pasty mud so I could care less.

Agreed, this is why the internal spring is not recomended.

Try me. She's got a nice little body. I do photography for a hobby. I got hooked up with a local swingers group and have seen some serious nastiness out of it. They pay good though so it's all gravy.

Yeah I'll redo it and spend a little more time looking for springs. I know what to look for, I just got antsy and wanted to put my stuff together and get it rolling after talking about it collecting piles of parts for 6 months, lol.

I was able to wiggle the shaft back into the diff earlier with the truck parked on flat ground, so nothing was damaged as far as I can tell, I just lost the cap for the shaft. I guess this one will be a spare, I need one anyway.

I know that feeling, just wanting to slap it back together to rock and roll only to find out you should have spent more time on it.
