Long story short, I managed to snag an 85 bronco ll 4x4 with the 2.8l c5 setup to utilize it's parts for my ranger swap (351w). Anyhow I would like to do the swap in stages and I got thinking, and so, now I'm wondering if it would be possible to put that c5 behind my rangers 2.9. Now from what I remember, the stock 2.8 block isn't too much different than the 2.9.

Is it possible?

the kickdown would be the most difficult,

also, i'm not sure if a 2.9l flex plate has the same bolt pattern for the 2.8l converter. even if the pattern is the same, the depth may be different
