Danger far from over for Adkins Avenue fire as firefighters monitor wind
More than 24 hours after officials first noticed the Adkins Avenue Fire, it covered about 1,400 acres and was only 30% contained.

Basics of what’s going on: A wildfire started earlier this week. It was a couple hundred acres. Then a few more (like 6) started around the Panama City Area. The big one was contained at 75% and 500 acres a few days ago. Now is at 1400 acres and 30% contained. On top of that there’s a second massive wildfire nearby that’s 8000 acres and 10% contained. A big cause of this, I think, is all the downed trees from hurricane Michael.
Anyone here affected by the fire? Anyone have any firefighting experience that can shed light on what’s actually going on in the fighting efforts? Was this avoidable?
