Yes, first bought a relatively cheap press from Amazon. This simply would not do the job. Then I got the free rental press from NAPA and that press could take it! Then sold the Amazon press on Craigslist.

Amazon? Well, of course it didn't work. Need to go to better quality. The one I borrowed was from Harbor Freight.

I've been using a Harbor Freight ball joint press for probably 15 years. Works fine as long as you know how to keep it alive... I bent it the first time I used it

Suggest this:

( control arms with installed ball joints are available, check RA )
also, spend a bit more for brand name joints with grease fittings

That's pretty bad when Amazon is selling counterfeit Harbor Freight tools. How low can they go?
