I've been out of the ranger game for a few years now, sold my 86 almost 2 years now. A buddy of mine came across one and got it for me for nothing. It's an 85 Cab/chassis. 2.8, 5 speed, 2wd. You know whats cool...it has an 8.8 rear in it, I guess only cab/chassis came with that? Anyway my plan is to put a normal bed on it, solid axle it, just throw in a junkyard mitsubishi 4x4 5 speed to get it going this spring. My plan is to ditch the computer setup these came with and just duraspark it, the truck is a mess computer was laying in floor smashed and wet so that has to get either way. Pretty beat up, and somebody stole parts off it. Gonna be alot of junkyard runs to get it together.

I didn't ask for your life story, just answer the question!
Is the utility bed steel or aluminum? A lot of the smaller beds like that are aluminum.

Been looking for a ranger sized utility bed for a while. They are hard to find.

Not sure on the bed yet, I may leave it. But in the plans are, 302 and zf5 swap, and 44 out of an early bronco. My zf5 has pto, so it would be sweet to have the utility bed and a pto winch...it would be awesome.

Me too. There is a company by my work that has like 20 obs S10's with utility beds. I keep hoping they upgrade trucks and auction/sell these ones.lol

Got it home, I got the engine to turn over in 1st by dragging it with my bronco. Its really clean besides the floor rust wise. Covered in dents in every possible spot, but the frame etc is solid. I wanna duraspark it and get it running to move it around the yard when its warmer out.
