Using the tech library as a guide:

http://www.therangerstation.com/tech_library/Alignment.html

I've purchased the same magnetic protractor and have a tape measure.

The slab I'll be working on is level for the most part, and I'm fairly confident in my ability to use these items to get it driving straight.

My plan is to raise it and set the jackstands as close to possible to where it'd rest with the tires on. Then strip it down to knuckles to achieve the measurments.

I have moog adjustable bushings on the way with a 0* to 4* adjustment and can be set to a true 0*. I've also got a book with the degree values so that's covered.

My questions are:

1). Anybody ever do this? With what results?

2). What measurement should I concentrate on first? Caster, camber, then toe? I'm pretty sure toe is set last....... Correct?

3). Any other tips or advice to make it easier in general?

All the ball joints and wheel bearings are new, and the TRE's are about a year old. All good brands.

Thanks,

Ryan

toe is last. you should be able to get the measurement from the outside of the hub?

Set it to the specified values, and take it for a drive, feel it out. If it pulls to one side, add some caster to that side, or subtract it to the other...caster is all about road feel...it wont affect tire wear. I did mine with a tape measure, and turned out great.

I thought about just taking the measurements on the hubs, but it can cause variables and they are exactly a surface a magnet would stick to.

Thanks everyone. Makes me a bit more confident.
