IT’S ALIVE!!!

Thank you for the hand holding. The B2 started and ran!! Going over brakes next. Starting on the rear drums because we have those.

Rear drums dialed! Opted for new springs and seals after we honed the slave. Great learning project for the boy! Moving to the fronts now. I’ve never done a 4x4 and we are going to have to replace one rotor and probably one caliper because it was driven with no brake pad. I think I will replace both rotors to maintain balance.

I would replace both calipers too. They sit around and the fluid gets rusty and they tend to stick. I would somehow suck the fluid out of the master cylinder, and then put in new before you start bleeding. You will then get all that old rusty fluid out of the system.

Front brakes, DONE. Moving on to fluids. Our washer fluid / coolant reservoir is trash. Where can I find one?

In theory, theory and practice are the same. In practice, they are different.

I recommend the junk yard. But with some creativity, you can repurpose stuff out of your recycle bin.

Ooh. Sounds like an old school manual with no synchros.

Sounds like the drive shaft was still spinning when you went to park. Did you put on the brakes before going to park?

Yes. Held the brake on the whole time.

Do the brakes work? drum brakes do not work as well in reverse as the do going forward.
Maybe mark the driveshaft so you can be sure it isn't turning.
If it isn't, the trans is probably toast.

This assumes the back wheels are off the ground in your video like the fronts are. If the tires are on the ground then I think trans is toast.

NOOOOO!!!!

So, yes the rear wheels were on the ground. I’m not sure if the transfer case was in gear. Would that matter? It would allow free spinning...

Transfer case should NOT be in neutral. Put it in 4hi and redo the testing.
