Hey everyone;
I just had the TK5 trannny rebuilt and figured it's a good time to replace the clutch assembly, clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder.
According to the 4 "how to" manuals I've got (Chiltons - 2 different editions, a Haynes, and a Clymer)there's no way to bleed the system, as it's supposed to be sold as a complete pre-bled assembly.
Found a video by Perfection on doing a bench bleed - except mine, an '84, doesn't have a bleeder valve on slave cylinder.
Tech section has an article, but same thing - later models apparently have a bleeder valve at slave cylinder.
Confusion and frustration reigns.....................

anybody out there got any ideas ??

Kim, you're right, that is a "bleeder" - I was looking for the bleeder screw that one utilizes when doing brake jobs.

I watched several times that video with the Perfection tech, I highly recommend it !!

Main difference is that with my '84 and that funky bleeder screw at slave cylinder, I made one helluva mess from lack of a way to postion a tube to collect lost fluid.

I positioned the on a 2x4 and did what that tech showed, but placed the slave in a large pan (used for oil changes).

Took just a few minutes, used 1½ pint size containers of fluid; would have used less if I hadn't let the reservioir run out - had to start the procedure over again to purge air that got into the system.

Installing the system into truck took some time and lots of patience; I really appreciate the way the hose is locked into the master and slave cylinders, it allowed me to "swivel" things as I snaked the system around brake lines, wiring and other stuff.

WHAT A RELIEF ! ! !
