New member. I introduced myself in new members section. I have a 2020 Ranger Lariat 4X4 Supercrew I had a 2.5 leveling kit installed in by a reputable shop today. I drove it from there to the alignment shop they use. On the way home I hit a section of highway where the speed limit is 60 mph. After a couple seconds I noticed I have considerable vibration. I get up to about 64 it gets worse. I get below 60 it seems to melt away. Also seems steering is somewhat off center if that makes sense. I called the shop and I'm taking in back in tomorrow morning. Anyone have any past experience with this I can relay tomorrow? I'm sure it's something simple.

No one has mentioned anything yet but it could that they just haven’t posted about it either.

The new Ranger is still quite new. So, those of use that have them are clearing the path for others that follow. So, you may be the first.

Please post up any findings and fixes you discover whether someone responds or not.

I took it back to shop this morning. They said that they pulled the wheels and made sure Both rotors were seated properly and retorqued the wheels. I took it out on I-69 and got it up to about 72-73 mph and it seemed fine.

Sounds like something didn’t seat right then. Let us know if it pops back up.

A follow up on the vibration problem. After a week of it being on and off issue I finally dropped by the dealership yesterday and took the salesman that sold me the truck a ride. He admitted there was a vibration. He felt it was rode related. After a week of driving it I was convinced it was front driveline related. We called the shop that did the install and they agreed to have the dealership have a look at it. By the time we were done it was too late to make an appointment. I was going wait until Tuesday and make the appointment. I drove it home and this morning I got in the truck and drove it around to the local Wendy's to grab a quick breakfast. After I picked that up I pulled out on the highway and got up tp speed and started hearing a clicking sound. I drove about 8 miles to Walmart and parked it. I exited the truck and looked under the drivers side front. I enclosed a picture for reference. Evidently the CV had ate itself over the last week. I sent picture to the dealership and shop that did the work. Salesman immediately called me and wanted me to try to get truck back to dealership about 30 miles away. The man from the shop texted me and told me to just let Ford fix it and they'd pay for it. I have to admit they are taking all the blame and paying for the repairs and a rental for as long as I need it. Not sure they'll touch my truck again but I'll credit them for standing up.

Not sure what they did to make that happen but they are paying to have the dealership fix it so I'm good.

My guess is over extended the joint and popped a ball out of the groove... the rest would be history.

I would have to agree. When they first told me they had popped a cv out I assumed it had just popped out of the front diff. I assumed wrong. Will be glad to get it back. They gave me a Mazda 6 as a loaner. While it's a great car I'm just not used to crawling down into something.

When I put my leveling kit on it was very difficult to get the struts to go back in with the extra height. I ended up loosening the axle nut and sliding the hub off to get the lower control arm to drop more without binding the CV joints. I'm thinking the shop who did your kit just forced it down. That being said I didnt have to do it on passenger side. That strut went in easier without having to loosen the nut.

That's exactly the problem the shop had. They told me the passenger side was no problem. Said they didn't understand because they had already installed several of the Rough Country leveling kits. Actually one of the salesman where I purchased my Ranger had a 2020 XLT that he had leveled at the same shop which convinced me to have mine done.

If you don't have time to do it right will you have time to do it over?
After decades as a service manager I grew to hate "leveling" and lift kits, they both created driveline vibrations and headaches for me because the owner thought Ford should pay to fix the vibration their modification caused. The rear of a truck sits higher than the front so it won't be tail down when loaded, we sold SUV's and cars that sat level.

That's the beauty of the way they launched the New Bronco. Front and rear lockers on 35 inch tires with a Factory warranty. I guess Ford will see what warranty claims will cost them for that offering...

I've always left my Rangers pretty much the way they came suspension wise. There was an exception or two... but the factory suspension IMO just works so much better as a daily/weekend get away truck. So my hopes are the next Gen Ranger will have some of this Bronco DNA and have a 33 inch tire with front and rear locker option. If that happens... it's gonna be a hard choice between the Ranger and a New Bronco.
