yup. thats the best way but as far as your question, if a person can change the top speed limiter, i have not heard of it since the early 90s cars.

my 05 is governed to something like 93mph, or 98 mph. what did he get stopped at?

My 2010 2.3 would do 100.. carrying a 700lb wheeler in the bed no less. Impressive for a mere 143hp or so lol.

I had the speed limiter changed from the about 92 mph limit. It was included in the tuner that was programmed for me. I don't know what it was raised too but I know it can be changed.

It should be able to be changed with Forscan. I have not done anything with Forscan but there are people here that have.

Yes, you should be able to lower top speed, I believe Fleet vehicles are programmed with lower top speed, to say 70mph, to avoid tickets from lead foot employees, lol
And it won't effect performance until speed hits the limiter

I say the boy needs to pay his own insurance lol...

Even if OP set the limiter at 50mph thats way more than enough to get bagged for criminal speeding.

Boys gonna be boys after all.

He got poped at 92 in a 65..... I'll bet the governor is set at 92 and he would have been going faster if not limited.........terrifying

It sounds like it's time for him to start picking up the tab on things, like the speeding fine and the increased insurance premium that may result of the ticket. He wants to play games, he's going to have to pay the price for playing games.
