2000 4.0 Throttle Body

Hello... New Member Here.

Had a question about my 2000 4.0, is there a reason there are no Throttle Body Spacers available for this? I have called around and it seems they're made up to 99 then from 2001 on. I hear they really don't give you much power, but now I am curious because I can't get one.

Is it possible to use either a 98/99 in place? Where there any engine mods for that 1 year?

THINK bout it a while... If a SPACER would do anything good...why wouldn't Ford hav put one in there? A spacer under a carb can develop slightly MORE horsepower at a CERTAIN rpm.. a spacer in a computer controlled engine with a throttle body won't do anything cept maybe make your throttle cable too short! Outside of that I havn't heard of any other effects..

don't bother... i had one on my 2000 ranger... because of the increased space throttle cable doesn't work correctly mine stuck numerous times tried raising idle to stop..no improvement ( didn't have on long enough to vertify any gains) since returned mine

Ok, so I know not to get one. But still, they are out there? I searched and searched, found nothing. Thanks for the input.

yes they are available, got mine from jc whitney.. but due to increased space and change of angle, throttle cable binds...contacted manufacturer no response so i sent mine back
