Hey everyone I have a 97 ranger 2.3l 5 speed rwd with 31 psi in front right tire. The question I have is does the brake always go in when going to shift? Iv never owned a ranger before so not 100 percent sure if it was designed like that or not but when I press the clutch all the way to the floor the brake pushes in as well during the last 1/2 to 1 in on the depression. Also my brake pedal is sticking just ever so slightly and I have to pull it up just a little bit to get the lights to come off when I park it. I dont know if its time to replace the assembly or if there is a simple fix like a shot of pb blaster or something. Any help is appreciated and Thank you in advanced.

That isn't normal, I wouldn't use PB as there's too many solvents in it for that kind of thing but WD40 or something would be better... it's TIGHT up in that area to look into but it's only 4-5 bolts holding the seat in (4 for the seat and one for the seatbelt...) which would give you way more room...

There's a couple bushings on the pivot shaft that are probably dry and or rusted, I don't remember which one pivots on which but it's in there somewhere...

Ok awesome thank you. I wonder if I can just find the bushings instead of the whole assembly

My credo
Toonces drives a Ranger . . . . just not very well.

Dorman has a kit in their "Help" packaging. I used their part # 14041 to re-bushing the pedals in my '90 Bronco II. You can check the application for your year on their website.
