Driving home from work...35mph....running smooth.....suddenly ( like someone flicked a switch) I lost power... I kept going by tapping the gas until it would sorta catch and have a bit of power for a second or 2 and then,,power loss again....I limped home... /// Upon looking into the engine compartment the only thing amiss was one hose was off of the charcoal cannister..which when replaced made no difference ./// I cleaned the MAF.....checked the purge solenoid and it was fine...even changed the fuel filter...same thing. One other thing is that after running it this way it has an odd " hot " or different exhaust smell....But it's not overheating at all.............HELP !

Wild shot in the dark. If it will idle check the tail pipe and see if the pressure coming out "feels" normal. Maybe get another vehicle next to it to compare.

mine was doing the same, changed the coil pack, seemed to work for a little while, then it started doing it again. but not constantly. then suddenly today it just died completely. started bucking, hesitating, jerking, rpms going up and down, then it died.wouldn't start, then it did but not idle couldn't get the rpm's up then die, and that was it...nothing but a dead truck.....

thinking it might be the ICM....i will keep you in the loop....
