My 1350 manual t case is fine in 2hi, 4 hi but in 4 low I have to hold the lever to the side to keep it from jumping out and grinding. I know for a fact that I was the first person to actually use 4 low in the truck as it was family owned. Is there an adjustment? It seems like it just doesnt want to click or drop in.

No it has been going on since I got the truck, everytime I put it in low it grinds when I let off the clutch so I really try to mash it in and it will go but kinda jerks and pops in and out as if not fully engaged.

take off the shifter boot and see if you're hitting the floor at all. you can grind a little bit away and it may stay in. my buddies K5 blazer used to do that.

So I took off the boot and by having a bodylift it is so easy to work on. The shifter rides in a rail and doesnt allow to go further. One bolt goes into the trans which allows for rail movement. I noticed my shifter when in 2hi didnt contact the rail, but in 4low it hit the rail end and still was not engaged. I loosened the rail, adjusted it and now 4 low clicks like it should fully engaged. I also while so happy about my 4low ran over my dam tool bag haha, only casualty was the socket case inside.

I've found it easiest to adjust the T case by putting it in 4hi and adjusting the guide to match there, works well. Sounds like you did it similar.

When I first put my truck together as a 4x4, it was out of adjustment where it would pop out of 4hi randomly (interesting driving on icy roads where the rear will pass the front)
