A buddy of mine has a Traxxas TRX6 6x6 RC crawler truck he brought out on a trip couple years ago (three axles, three lockers)... That thing made mincemeat out of every other 4x4 RC in the vicinity when it came to climbing uphill over boulders and even just plain steep terrain, the traction it had was beyond incredible. I can't imagine how that wouldn't translate similarly into the 1:1 real world... I'm imagining that this spud thing @85_Ranger4x4 mentioned must've not had lockers in all three axles, or all three axles were not being directly driven (or maybe had a malfunction or was not a proper 6x6).

I'd have a TRX6 myself, but the Mercedes G-series body on it (the only TRX6 available with a reasonable wheelbase) made me puke, and my hopes were almost nil for finding an aftermarket body for such a unique chassis either, so I never did bother to look.

A buddy of mine has a Traxxas TRX6 6x6 RC crawler truck he brought out on a trip couple years ago (three axles, three lockers)... They redid the rear suspension, added some airbags... and it hasn't really been seen a whole lot.

I question if they are still sorting it out.

Supposedly normal 6x6's like duece and a halfs are horrible in sand. I have neither duece and a halfs nor sand to confirm.

It seems it likes to put a ton of stress on the center axle/driveline breaking over things.

Their big wrecker had teething issues too that they worked out so who knows.

How funny, Traxxas has one of those too! (it looks like they got rid of the shorter WB MB G-series one I mentioned though, just now I didn't see it)

With hauling a 4x4 on the back though, I can see why there'd be heavy demand put on the t-case and resulting failure. That's going to need to be some heavy duty shit to put up with that offroad (stuff that would make a NVG-271 look like little RBV stuff)

Its main intent is something to quickly easily swoop in and scoop up busted side by sides. They were stress testing hauling a vehicle on pretty easy stuff and were snapping things with little to no effort though lol.
