mega squirting the 2.9

Can get you time and fuel tables... keep in mind I had methanol though. So timing is appropriate to methanol injection. There are non methanol ones posted here by me either in my build thread or in the 2.9 ms thread.

Application dictates chemistry on all engines. Extra viscosity probably doesn't hurt anything. The R&P seems to be good stuff so far tho...

Depending on year, check your cam. Mine was SMOKED when I pulled it. 90s-early 2000s they took the zddp out of oil without reformulating with appropriate molybdenum. Modern sp grade oil fixed this, but not after damage was done. Zddp additives tend to corrode your engine so I'd avoid. Long story. Run SP graded stuff. Should be fine. Cams are notably soft tho. Sometimes lifter tick is lobe wear. Mine was. I made the famous free floating rockers a few years back. Still haven't run them tho. I made a thread on how to do it. Should help with top end oiling with high volume pump.

All cologne pushrod - v4, 2.6, 2.8, 2.9, 4.0 seem to have top end oiling issues. No big deal with intelligent modification. SOHC and DOHC seem to not have issues with oiling.

Much better engine than most understand. Geoff Kershaw won a *lot* of races on one without issue. Twin turbo setup on a BOA/BOB DOHC setup. Insane car. Very fast.
Shoot ok i wish i could use methanol if there wasn’t one gas station in b.c around lower main land that sells it which sucks.

Roger that I was using catalyst Branded oil for the longest time my dad had a pale of it so I just ran it thinking nothing of it now I’m definitely going to be more cautious when looking for oil I had no clue

I think I may have cam wear because I can hear it more notable now I think the collapsed lifter had to do with it I pray it’s not though

When making those free floating lifters was it hard at all? I’m gonna take a look at your posts right now

I also got the dual throttle body’s too just need to put it on they look so sick, eBay seller didn’t even include any of the linkages because why not you know. So I gotta figure something out for that

Sorry for asking a lot of questions I finally get to chat with some one with a similar build to me and see that your still kicking around which is great to see!

Can send photos of linkage. It's a door style system. There's a merkur graveyard in the states that has some left... I may, too. Merkur guys ebay name was 'blugg' if memory serves. 'Capriroadracer' on ebay is helpful as well - he has sources for import parts.

Ask as many questions as you'd like. I'm not an expert, but have tried a lot of crap.

Dual intake will cause loss of some low end torque, but excels at higher rpm. Intake runner length stuff. Garrolite spacers help a little due to getting IAT away from radiant heat from lower intake. But you can control IAT tables now, so no big deal. Megasquirt changes your thinking now that everything is under your control.

Open loop pcv is big one. Like $40 in parts and difference in response and knock is very noticeable. If I find time will draw up

Both linkage and spacers visible in pic.

There is a euro aluminum fuel rail... never tried it.

Skogenracing on youtube is the living encyclopedia on the engine. His is ridiculous.

Here. Open loop setup.

mega squirting the 2.9

Put can somewhere cool in engine bay to condense oil vapors. Be careful of freezing in winter if you drive in cold weather, they can ice over with combustion water vapor. You'll need to empty can once a week or so.

Set it up and use IAC control to trim your idle back down. Advantage is your pcv now is independent system and has ability to freely breathe. Pcv works on vac and on pressure both if left to own devices... there is a slight in-out pulse on the crankcase as pistons roll around. Doing it this way you ensure good hard vacuum that purges crankcase when at idle. Only upgrade beyond this one is aerospace engineering crankcase purge system, and they're $$$$, and for drag racing. They pull hard vacuum on piston rings at WOT to make them seat harder and will give power bump. Not noticeable on sub 600-800 hp engines tho.

I did not use "pcv valve" if memory serves... just ran hard vacuum at idle, then lesser vacuum as manifold pressure lost. If it needs to purge itself with no manifold vacuum, it can due to open side. Remote relocation of breather filter will keep goo away, but not necessary.

You will get slight oil drip on breather side occasionally... maybe. I never cared, It's a 2.9... they occasionally drip anyways.

Interesting we’re in the states roughly like Washington area? I’ve been looking high and low for it

Alr sweet

I am definitely going to make that though was thinking of mounting right were the clutch reservoir is heat doesn’t really get trapped over there I don’t think, should be a good enough spot may look a little ugly we’ll see how it goes

the 4.0 fly wheel should make up for that low end torque a little right?

I wonder if the aluminum fuel rail flows better
