93 Splash in SC, V8-Swap version

Compression checks are done. All 155/160 except #7. It struggled to hit above 125. I got 130 on it once. I might have gotten #6 and #7 spark plugs mixed up earlier. Maybe #7 was the one with the oil and dark color. It was a challenge to get my hands on 5, 6 and 7 to get the tester screwed in good. But I feel confident that reading on 7 is accurate.

Currently sidetracked on removing stuff under the hood. But my goal is to get the transmission out this afternoon.

Well, the transmission didn't come out today. Battery, battery tray, AC compressor and lines, Power steering pump and accessory bracket, starter motor and almost the radiator. Darn AC condenser is attached to the radiator. Not sure how to separate them. So, fan and fan clutch need to come off to let the radiator/condenser mess to come out.

Figured out what Ford engineers are good at - forcing mechanics to use every tool in the catalog all on one vehicle.

wow! They put an oil cooler between the filter and the block. I was wondering why the filter was placed where it is.

That oil filter mount interfered heavily with my steering box FWIW.

I already have an oil filter relocation kit. But I was planning in installing it where the filter currently resides. Either way, I have options.
