93 Splash in SC, V8-Swap version


So, I don’t think I checked compression numbers on my 5.0, but when I had the heads off because of broken bolts I decided to lap the valves and found that one hole, I think it might have been #7, had a poor seal on the valves so it was good that I did that apparently. Not saying for sure you have the same situation but it makes me wonder…
 
Today's progress. That's a heck of a job for one old man. Couldn't get the bolt out of the head that holds the dipstick tube. So I cut the tube. No big deal, except that I forgot to pull the dipstick out first. Oops. Lots of oil leaking from rear of transmission.

First time I did it I just left the tube with the engine... I forgot about that bolt, that bolt is why I have extremely long 3/8" drive locking extensions, should have bought wobble sockets then too, it's slightly more doable with the engine angled back some but yeah, no bueno...
