TRS Event Carlisle Truck Nationals August 2-4, 2024


Last year, before I left on Sunday, I picked up all of the signs with The Ranger Station name on them that were provided by Carlisle. I vaguely remember putting them on the table, but I’m not sure who went home with them.

If they can get up there by Friday, I would be happy to take one or two and put them on The Road Ranger when I’m on the display field. I’m entered in the weird little trucks section, 900 or 910 or something like that.

One last thought, and I’m hesitant to say it, but I will come out of my shell for a rare moment. I think it was @ericbphoto who did a great job on building a flag pole for the flag. Unfortunately, there was no air movement, so it didn’t flap out and display properly. Absolutely no criticism of @ericbphoto here.

I’m suggesting from my tradeshow experience, if we bring a couple of heavy duty spring clamps, we could clamp it off the fringe of the canopy, and it would be a lot more visible. I will try to remember to bring some, but a back up wouldn’t be bad.

As always, just my two cents, and I hope it helps. If I am too critical, please remember my alcohol addled brain and advanced years.

Thanks Rick. We were talking last year about modifications. I was thinking a 90* elbow and a piece of pipe stuck on the top, or hang it vertically from the tent as you said.

Afterthought. Does TRS have a one or two page flyer PDF? If you have something, email it to me and I’ll have my gal print out a bunch and have them with me on the showfield.

I could also have a sign up form for membership to collect everybody’s phone and email (all of this only if you want me to).

How about a “T” and 2 shorty pipes, centering it on the pole? Easier to carry an easier to aim in the direction you want.

Tent order form has been faxed to Carlisle with payment when I got to work. If anyone wants to kick in, my address is above or PayPal me at JOdata@aol.com.
To get a free tent we need either 25 registered for the prior year’s event or 25 registered by the Gate-N-Go deadline for the current year. So we weren’t quite there but had enough for a discount.
We have to maintain a minimum of 15 registered each year to keep our club space and tent.
Tables and chairs are extra cost, but as I recall last year there was a table in our tent from the previous event and they didn’t charge us. I will bring a table.
They will print us an official Carlisle club banner for our tent for $50. We can think about that for next year. We will need the flag from last year from whoever has it.

@Jim Oaks if you could ask Carlisle for the list of who is registered and forward it to me, that would be great.

I received the window sticker and information packet today.
 
I got my window stickers and the map today. Probably came the same time as you guys, but I pace myself on visits to my mailbox at the top of the steep driveway.

I’ll be with you guys on Friday and on Sunday, and on Saturday I’m going to be with the little weird 2WD Ford trucks on the Showfield in section “R,” just above the wash area.

My buddy Paul is coming up again on Friday. My plan is to drive up on Thursday and leave Sunday lunchtime or so.

@JohnnyO, I keep forgetting to mail the check for the tent. If I’m not by my desk, and I don’t do it in the next week, I’ll just bring it with me. The brain is feeble, and it’s hard to remember what to pay if I don’t have an invoice, not that I’m blaming anybody else.

BTW, I always travel with Carrie and Willie, and the Beach Boys. Bob Seger arrived today, and I’m waiting for the Eagles, I’m not sure they’ll make it in time.

I’m loving the OEM cd cassette AM/FM head! I don’t know if I love it because I love it, but I sure do hate commercials…

I got my stuff too. It appears that the TRS area is the same spot as last year.
