TRS Event Carlisle Truck Nationals August 2-4, 2024

On Saturday, judging day, I will be in section “R“ the yellow circle by the wash station. Depending on what time the judging is done, I might pull out and drive over by you guys.
Ask one of the staff to be sure but if it's like the Ford Nationals the judging is from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday.

In the other thread Eric recommended Fay's Country Kitchen for breakfast. May keep the cooler in my truck and get a hoagie in the morning at a Sheetz or someplace for lunch. Prices aren't horrible inside the event but the lines at the concession stands can be long. My new knee is doing pretty good but gets achy if I'm on my feet a lot.

Even though I don't have the truck wired up for it yet, I plan on ringing the 30 quart 12v cooler along. People can throw their food in that so we don't have to worry about ice. It seems to be working pretty well when I tested it a couple times.

Looking at the weather forecast, it looks like it is going to be a wet weekend. Bring your poncho and some waterproof boots.

i’m in the little weird, 2 Wheel Dr. truck category, and apparently there’s only a handful. I already reached out to Ed up there, and when they get done with all the “real“ trucks, the first crew that is done gets sent to sections like mine. So I expect it in the afternoon.

Well, sh*t.
I was thinking of getting a cabin next year depending how my other new knee is doing. Guess I should have done it this year. Will hope for the best. Camping in the rain is tolerable but setting up a tent in it sucks.
I'm just going to bring one cooler this year, beer, ice, two vacuum-packed hamburgers, and a container of pasta salad.

FYI, My phone says there will only be showers and they will be after 6 PM on Friday and Saturday, and then some late morning showers on Sunday.

Well, it's still a few days away and the forecast could change, hopefully for the better.

The primary app I use is pretty general on when the rain will be but good for a general, quick snap shot. If I really want to k ow what the weather is doing, I open up weather bug. The information is more detailed but tends to run slower, probably because of the detail.

Y'all up for dinner at Primanti Bros again on Thursday?

sounds good to me, but it’s going to really depends on what time I get out of here Thursday morning, about 11 hours for me not including, draining Lincoln every two hours

Draining Lincoln couldn't take more than 3 seconds. That tiny dog couldn't hold more than a few milliliters.

Allowing Lincoln to sniff everything and decide when he is ready to drain, however, could take a few minutes.

I won't be there until Friday some time. I do plan to get up at 0430, like I was going to work and head out after some caffeine and breakfast. So, I should get there between 0900 and 1000, if all goes well and I get up instead of saying the heck with it and hit the snooze a bunch of times.

Google says it should take me about 4.5 hours to get there but there may be a bathroom break or two that will slow progress down a bit.

Hi Everybody,
My names Dan. Just made an account. Longtime lurker of all the forums. I will make a intro post later but had a question. I'm planning on going to the carlise show this weekend on Saturday. Will I be able to park with all the Rangers in your section?

I see now online registration is over so I just sign up when I get there it look like. And I tell them the club is 'the Ranger Station'.and than I can just park in your club section...Is that how it work?

You’ve got it. And yes, please tell them you’re with The Ranger Station. That gets us points, and a discount on our tent.

We’re all the way on the right side of the map, in section JJ. Red circle. On Saturday, I personally am on the judging field, in section R, the yellow circle, but you really want to run over to our tent to meet those guys.

I plan on inflating one of these and flying it from our tent on Friday, but I’m not sure how long it will stay airborne.

And, in the future, the correct way to introduce yourself is “Hi. I am Dan. I’m a Rangerholic!”

I’m already packed, but I’ll try to remember to grab one of these for you before I leave the house.

If they will sell you a On the Show Field, Non-Judged ticket, you are welcome to park with us. That's their call though and not ours. The more the merrier!

Keep me posted but I’m diabetic so I try to keep fairly consistent mealtimes. If not, don’t worry about it. Cell 724-624-1195.

Correct, just tell them your club is The Ranger Station when you register. We are in the Non-Judged Showfield if you don’t care about being judged.

Thanks Rick! Appreciate the map n confirming the parking. Absolutely would consider myself a 'Rangerholic'. Hooked on em. This is my 4th one.
Really excited about this weekend show. Looking forward to meeting ya'll attending.
