TRS Event Carlisle Truck Nationals August 2-4, 2024

So far, it only looks like the people who have been there last year are going but for those considering attending, here is the web site for the campground we used last time: https://deerruncampingresort.com/

The area where we camped is at the back of Doe Lane. Sites 218 and 219 through 222. There was talk of trying to get spots 216 and 217 this year. The sites are on the top, left of the map. The map is at this link: https://deerruncampingresort.com/site-map-rules.html

As always, I appreciate everything you do, and everything @Jim Oaks has done in creating such a wonderful community.

I want to encourage everyone to attend this great event. The incredible range of trucks, and eye candy is amazing, but one of the best parts for me was the camaraderie of The Ranger Station, and how they welcomed me in as a first timer. I also can’t say enough good about the Carlisle folks who bent over backwards to accommodate my unusual rig

Jim, I think you already know that I registered twice, the road ranger and the step trailer. Last year I wanted to contribute, but I didn’t know how to do it and then time ran out. Please provide me a link, and I’d be happy to be the first one to kick in for the tent this year.

Also, if I could make a suggestion, a creative criticism, but I’m only looking for the good side. I think it was @ericbphoto last year who made a flag stand that was great, but without wind, I don’t know how many saw the flag.

Could I suggest that in addition to the flag, that we get a banner that we can hang across the front of the tent?

Also, I’m planning on being with TRS the first day in the last day, but I have entered the road ranger in the strange, small, weird truck category. I would be very happy to display a TRS banner, and to me it only makes sense to have two, one for each side.

In closing, let me say I love spending other folks money. But seriously, let me kick in, and let me help promote TRS. Great stuff.

91 days ‘til Truck Nationals in Carlisle, PA.

where does the time go? I’m going to make a decision on where I’m going to stay and reserve a spot.

I urge everyone to come out again, even if you just come out for Friday or Saturday, Saturday being the big day.

I have to make reservations for the camp ground and the show field yet. The water heater replacement set things back a bit. I wanted to have Truck Nationals and LBL all reserved and paid for by now. At least August drill is already taken care of...

It would be awesome to come see all the rides, but with timing I can only do one or the other. Given that the TRS 25th anniversary will only happen once, I'd rather plan for that.

Hell, we're happy if people can only make one. One is better than none and it's nice to put a face to the people we are yaking to on the internet.

I looked at getting a spot in your campground. I’m still worried if the road ranger would get in an out OK. The reason I mention it is it was $44 a night, and it looked like they only had one or two spaces left, so you may want to move quickly.

The hotel I stayed in last year is only 40 bucks more, and they had very convenient access and parking for the rig, so I pulled the trigger on that. If it’s possible, I’d like to swing by the campground, picture is worth 1000 words and see if it’s someplace I could stay another time.

On the hotel, for like $20 more I can get two double beds instead of one queen bed. If there’s somebody who wants to split the cost with Lincoln and me, reach out

i can't go but i can donate to the club tent and bbq stuff. at least the guys who go can take pics for the rest of us

Planning on coming again this year. Wife like the pictures of the campground from last year so she was planning on going too, and maybe just staying at the campground to avoid the weird car people.

Have to check with my brother and see if he wants to come again.

For better or worse we both have a couple things going on that may put a damper on it. We’ll probably have to wait and see once we get a little closer.

Do we know where The Ranger Station will be this year at the nationals? Is it the same as last year?

I’ll be with you guys Friday and Sunday, but I will be in section 905 on Saturday on the judged field.

I looked all over their website for a map of the show field, and I could not find one that was coded. Maybe they don’t section everything out and produce it until they have most of the registrations

I emailed them, and I’m sure they will send me a copy. When I get it, I will post it here.

My guess is that we'll be in the same spot.

From Carlisle:

Club maps for Truck Nationals are not done until closer to the event. We mail hard copies of the event map out with your showfield stickers 3-4 weeks prior to the event. This map will have the club area designations on it.
