If that's your thing, go for it. I'm not interested.

Im not sure if a chopper is my style of motorcycle.

Why are you not interested.
Chopper isn't my style either and I'm less ready for an electric vehicle than our infrastructure is. I won't fault someone else for using them. It just isn't my thing.

read the reviews & you may not want one

My buddy is looking at an electric chopper. He thinks it would be perfect for the 10 mile ride to work and than home.

He is the only person i know, personally, here in town with a new ranger. He loves his and he has had it a few years

First, seeing how this is a forum for predominately gas powered trucks, I tend to not think about them when on here at all.

Second, that isn't an electric motorcycle. It's an electric scooter dressed up like a motorcycle. I tend to not think about those at all regardless of where I am.

Third, I do occasionally think about actual electric motorcycles (IE: Zero), electric dirt/mountain bikes (IE: Sur-ron), and electric bicycle conversions somewhat regularly.

I Iike the idea of an electric motorcycle, but I haven't ridden touched my gas powered cruiser in years. Don't think it makes much sense to spend the money on something like a Zero at this time. Maybe if I ever get setup with a toyhauler and start making trips to better riding areas.

I have thought about getting something electric that I can easily put in the back of the truck. Partially for pleasure and partially for utility. Pleasure is just riding for fun, but again I have a bicycle I don't ride. Utility would be things like dropping my truck off at the shop andriding back home, to work, etc rather than waiting. For shorter ranges (<10 miles) a converted mountain bike would be enough and could have fun offroad. If I were going some distance like my house to/from parents (~30 miles) I'd want more range and speed, so something more like the Surron.

Problem with a bike like the Surron is unclear rules regarding road operation (is it a moped, scooter, or motorcycle?) and regardless of those rules I'd endup modifying to the point that it needed to be registered. Stock speeds and range just wouldn't cut it.

I don't know if a chopper is my style of motorcycle but a electric motorcycle would help with my mild autism =)

How tall is your buddy and whats his weight.

He is about 5'6 or 5'7 is my guess

There's a ton of E-bike stuff out there.
My buddies have surron, Talaria, Zero etc...one has a stark on order. The only electric mobile thing I have is one wheel, but only because I hate walking. Its currently dead, I think the circuit board fried. I do have a electric beach cruiser, but is it made to be bicycle path legal, so it doesn't look electric nor goes very fast, and does not have a throttle to bypass pedaling. I love it, but dont ride it much...mostly on jobsites too big to walk and too small to drive around.

I would suggest you look into something thats been out awhile and has an actual name brand.

That one in particular looks like a home made version of a super77, which is what I would get.

Maybe check out all the DIY kits, you can electrify pretty much anything with wheels pretty easily these days.

Id rather have one of those pedal bikes fitted with a weedwacker motor

I'd think if it can do a 4 second 1/4 mile and cruise at 75 8 hrs a day it stands a chance
