My credo
built her in a storage unit
i really need this piece to complete my swap. can’t find one anywhere

Tell me again why a 93/94 harness won’t work?

Best guess would be to avoid likelihood of EGR and Cam Position Sensor. Which should also mean batch-fire, not SFI. All together it makes things a bit simpler.

no egr, no cam sensor, and the wiring harness bolts in exactly like the other. everything is a lot simpler

'93 and '94 Ranger wiring may work for you too. I just worked on a '93 that had no EGR, DPFE or cam sensor. '94 allegedly is the year when some or most or all 4.0 trucks had both plus ABS, you may just have to compare. 93/94 Explorer platform is pretty much guaranteed to have all of those.

What did the wiring end up coming out of? Did you have to rewire anything?

came out of a 92 expolorer, only differnece is you will need the 92 explorer dash harness unless you can figure out how to rewire everything, fuse box is pinned differently and has different connector going into the cab, also there is a large connector that on th explorers that goes to the taillights, transfer case, and rabs module, it is a large connector as opposed to the two small ones that are on the original ranger harness, just repin them into the old connectors on the original harness identical to the ones coming off the chassis or get a new chassis harness but this solution is much better. radio blower motor and tach still dont work due to not getting the 92 explorer dash harness, also headlights and blinkers are a little wonky, evertyhing that is going to make the vehicle run is plug n play. all the other things need to be figured out but very ez solutiuons

I've always wondered how different the ranger harness's are to 4.0. Like if you have a 89 2.9'd truck and your putting 91-92 4.0 from a ranger how different everything is.... My 92 4.0 ranger has the two plug harness for the tail lights, fuel pump and all that. I just was testing mine for power to my tail lights. You could buy a 92 ranger with a 2.9 in it makes one think of how different they really are.
