Ultra Power Window Crank Handle Review (part no. 767MX)

My whole point of changing out my factory ones was to get ones the the covers were in good shape. One side was cracked (drivers) and the other (Passenger) wouldn't stay snapped on. It's a good thing I kept the old parts as spares but I am back in the same situation and needing factory replacements because they can handle me rolling up the windows at weird angles.

@scotts90ranger If you can track it down PM me and I'll send you the money for sure because the replacements just are not built "Ford Tough" lol

UPDATE: after going back and reading the original beginning to this saga I noticed there was one thing I did not comment back on and that was the the trim rings around the attach point rattling.

To my surprise they did not rattle at all BUT I did notice that I had 2 trim rings on each side ( is this factory or maybe specific to my truck?) and that my door panel pushed them out to the window crank so this is most likely the reason for my set of (now broken) window crank handle replacements not rattling.

A guy as smart as you could learn how to tune a 2150 2 bbl in about 10 minutes. You wouldnt even tell the difference between that and EFI.

Until he tries to start it when it hasn't been plugged in at -40. The injected one will complain, but most likely start. The carbed one will complain, and most likely NOT start.

At -40 youre prolly not gonna get anything started.

WRONG!! I live in that weather, and I've had a number of fuel injected vehicles sit outside, unplugged at -40. They ALL started. Yeah, they complained, but THEY STARTED. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, they started EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. No, I didn't have to boost them. No, I didn't have to use starter fluid. Even my Fit, that had a lawn mower battery (not really, but it was an itty bitty little thing, with around 350 CCA) would start at -40 if it wasn't plugged in.

The vehicles I had with a carbeuretor? They were a crap shoot to get started at -20, let alone colder than that, if they weren't plugged in.

Probably wernt tuned right and it depends on the carb.

It dont get -40 where i live but its been -20 or -25, and my old 2150 fired my 77 400 over just as fast as my 97 460.

"Weren't tuned right"? That's a load of BS, AND YOU KNOW IT. The difference between EFI and a carb is that the carb is MECHANICALLY set. It has to be manually adjusted, and if you adjust it so that it's right for -40, then it's not right for 30, let alone 90. EFI, on the other hand, is electronically adjusted, by a computer that knows how much fuel the engine needs in order to start at a given temperature.

I understand the fundamental difference between the two.

Some carbs are pickyier then others...ill admit that...but i havent moved the choke knob on my 77 in years and it starts as good when its 80 as when its below zero.

Im not going to sit here and debate this as my stance against EFI has softened over the years. Truthfully i think a good carb is just as good as EFI in 99% of operating situations.

I hate the cold. The temps get down below 30 on a regular basis, the trucks get plugged in. Whichever one is expected to get driven. The warmer they are before they are started up, the quicker the cabin will warm up driving to where I need to be.
