Noice! I was curious if it held pressure before I sent it out so I oiled up the pump and checked the cab seal... the seal was actually coming apart, I picked out a bunch of chunks so they didn't fall into the tank. Couldn't help myself but I didn't want to tell you and ruin your fun

Knowing that in retrospect it might not have been the pump seal at first but it was my first suspicion, I haven't came across a bad. pump gasket yet but dry pump seals all the time. There is some "stuff" in the fount, not sure if it is rust or dirt, I have been able to shake some of it out.

Vent cleaned up pretty good, it has some kind of tar on it but as of yet my goo-gone is evading me.

Fount cleaned up pretty decent too. The rust thru the decal bugs me... I might tear it back down and repaint the fount in the future. Soaking with acetone to free up any stuck petrified fuel right now, hopefully I can flush out whatever else is there too.

I have an old Coleman 2 burner camp stove as well as a 3 burner, a lantern and a heater all that run on Coleman (unleaded gas) fuel. The camp stoves and heater I got at a thrift store, the stoves needed a little bit of TLC, they looked brand new but the pumps didn't work, simple repairs, and both of those now work, I paid $5 each for the stoves. The lantern I got at a yard sale for $5 and needed new mantles. The heater I have no idea if it works, those were the old style dome top ones I have no idea how they work, so I left well enough alone with that LOL. It looks to be in really good condition though.

Actually they got started making household equipment for areas without electricity before they really got into camping equipment. As electricity became more widespread they moved into camping stuff.

Big lanterns for chicken houses, lamps and even irons.

Chickens lay eggs according to daylight so for eggs in the winter you have to artificially extend daylight hours to keep them on schedule.

I've been tempted to repaint a couple of mine but I kinda like them better in their "working clothes."

I do too, I am more concerned about it getting worse though.

I can pick some the black stuff off but some of it is on there pretty good.

Maybe whatever it is will melt once you fire the thing up and it'll just wipe off? Hate to suggest hitting it with brake cleaner or anything... have had that smear the paint on occasion.

The vents are supposed to be ceramic coated for the heat.

I was going to try goo-gone on it as soon as I find mine.

What about a heat gun? If you can get a piece off you could test the meltability. Then maybe use non metallic scuff pads.

WD-40 works good at getting some things off, plus it keeps it from immediately sticking itself back on in another spot

Dang, I thought I'd done well to get a big charcoal for $20, with the shelf off it barely fit in the truck. Box measures 16x28 & 21" high. Got some high temp black to go on it when I can get to it. The ends, vents, grates, shelf brackets, and fire door are cast
Due to truck probs I didn't make the family Thanksgiving so I smoked their turkey and took it Christmas.
It did darn well just using dry pecan.

Mine isn't super heavy duty, I got it for my birthday a couple years ago. I do like it though and it is a handy fire proof thing to test fire Coleman stuff on.

For an update on the 200A, it didn't clean up too bad:



So I tried to light it:



It tried but it couldn't quite get it together. It ran smooth but yellow with a fire streamer. Air tube is clear, I kinda question the generator. In addition to being slightly bent it looked like it could have been original. I cleaned the outside and I could maybe clean the inside... but it is also bent.

Does it have any kind of seam in the structure? Almost appears there's some extra air in the mix

There is kind of a macaroni noodle looking thing at the top that can leak.

Generally yellow fire on Coleman stuff means it is running rich though.

Hmm, that's interesting. I'd be suspecting the generator too. Maybe the orifice is hogged out or something and letting too much fuel through...? Do the 200As use the same generator as the 220's?

What size mantle are you using? Perhaps throw a bigger one on after checking for leaks in the burner assembly?

Of course not, that would make it too easy. If it did I would just swap it for a known good used 220 gen for testing. Kinda makes sense though, I suppose a single mantle lantern has different fuel needs than a dual mantle lantern.
