99 Ranger build

My buddy has the 3.0 auto and his truck is a drag with 33" all terrains. I can't even imagine your situation. I have 4.0 stick so hopefully I can survive with 4.10s on 35s long enough to afford new gears and not blow the trans

ford78: when you put in your new t-case did you have to buy an adaptor for were you plug in your vss or did you have to splice wires? or did yours plug right in? Mine looks like it has a different plug.

U wont be using the vvs plug that went to the rear axle anymore. The t-case uses a differnt style plug. The case should be from a 95-97 ranger and has a 2 wire plug harness, the wires should be 1 gray with black stripe and 1 pink woth orange stripe. Make sure if u get the harness from a junk yard u get a good 6-8in if not more for splicing.
You will be then splicing into the ABS Harness that goes to the abs module.
Open open up the harness and their should be only one Gray with black strip
wire. Cut that wire and entend the harness side of the wire down to the t-case vss sensor and connect it to the gray/black wire to the vss sensor. The pink/ orange goes to a good ground.
Here a pic of the abs harness

Doing this has gotten my speed/odometer to work and my truck shifts better to.
Hope this helps

Any plans for a doubler? I would think those 4.10 and having the 3.0 will really limit your ability to crawl over big rocks

I'm regearing the rear to 5.13, so that should help a lot. The front is already regeared and spooled to 5.13.

No plans for a doubler, other things I want to do first.

I think I get it. I just have to splice the gray/black wire and ground the pink/orange.
pritty simple. Thanks for the help!

Sorry to hear man.

wouldnt you think something was wrong if everything went according to plan? lol, i know i would. that sucks man, sorry to hear. but that's half the fun of working on lifted trucks, you run into problems and get to figure out how to fix them.

Well i called my buddy that i got my front axle from and he still has the matching rear Dana 60, aleast it should be a 60. From what i have read up on the 61s came in mostly 2wd fords. Going this after noon to pic it up and going to start ripping it apart tonight.
Only thing that sucks is my truck is over at a friends house and its going to be a pain in the ass to work on it over their.
