go to your User CP (at the top of the page on the left near where it says 'chat')

then click on edit signature and you should be able to do it

there is also some stuff that you dip your tip into to help with spatter, I get mine form the local Tractor Supply, it comes in a plastic jar and is from Hobart.

also I love my flux core welder, I don't have to worry about running out of gas, I just have to remember to keep a spare roll of wire for when it runs out, I can change it and keep welding.

i saw the hobart stuff when i googled it, i'm gonna try something. the spatter is really annoying sometimes. especially if i'm welding with tennis shoes on and it goes inside my sock.

i always have a spare roll too, just picked up another yesterday as a matter of fact. they have a 10 LB. spool that i'd like to get, but it's ~$65 vs. $13 for the 1 LB.

the 1 lb. lasts me a good while as long as i'm not welding axle tubes, making a bumper or attaching spring perches

Lowes sells the 1 lb roll from Lincoln for more then I can buy the Hobart 2 lb roll for at TSC.

Robert

oh yeah, a 2lb spool of .030 inch flux wire is $20 at northern tool (TSC isnt anywhere close to me). might have to look into that.

here's my new metal

the sheet is gonna be made into a winch plate (i think) and the rest is for whatever. i may build a skid plate for the D35 pig.

the 2x3 tube is for the tire gate, if i can make it work

decided to try and cover up the old tire carrier bolt holes. even at the lowest setting, my welder is still too hot. i had to goober the mess out of it. hopefully i got it good enough. i'll grind it down tomorrow.

adding this solid 1/2" bar to the hitch to hold the safety chains.

did some stuff so far today.....

added these pieces to the bumper, i didnt like the way it was before.

burnt on the safety chain holders

did some fiberglasserizing too, i'll toss up some pics after it dries.

gotta figure out how i'm gonna fix this one
P1260007.jpg

goobered up the old bolt wholes for the tire gate too, they should be good, we'll see once i grind it down

the rear break line was all seized together, i got it off finally and i'm gonna replace the fittings, so i gotta go to autozone and get a flaring kit

oh and here's what i'm thinking for the swing out tire carrier
P1260003.jpg

i may make a new curved piece to hold the tire, dont know yet. gotta figure out how i'm going to make the pivot

i like the gussets they look much better. as for the spare tire holder what i like to do for the pivots is use a spare spindle and hub from the truck that its on. that way you always have a spare set of wheel bearings, hubs and a lockout.

and instead of welding the bar solid to the hub use an exhaust clamp to hold it together. granted it isnt as pretty but it allows you to keep all good spare parts right there

^ that's a good idea, but youre right it would look like shit plus you'd have to dissasemble it to get the part you need. I would just as soon get a trailer spindle and make one out of that. You'd have less than $50 in that setup including the bearings..

so i have these left over from when i replaced the bushings in my explorer leafs

so i'm thinking about doing something like this, think it'll hold?
