Project Vader.

Check the gearing on it, the 3.0 is a slug with anything over 235's and worse than 3.73's. That's the one thing I hate about my Ranger.

I think the '99 is a different engine than mine though.. might be better.

honestly if i buy it ill probably throw 31's on it. well see. i havent seen it yet but chevellekid says its mint. and its red. bonus!!

I knew I bought a three pack of these for a reason, lol.

Finally got my tires/rims put on, had to buy a new 4 way because the old one just kept bending..

I love the stance, but they rub at full lock because of these stupid cheap ebay fenders. I went at it with some pliers (all I have with me) and it's not as bad now, but they still rub. I'll get at them with a grinder when I get home. It's just the inner corner that hits, a completely non-essential part.

I do need to find three more (or a set of four) center caps for these wheels, I only have one for some reason. I think that's all that was on the Ranger when I bought it with these wheels. They cleaned up good, and will look MUCH better with centers.

Anyone know of a place where you can buy replacements?

Basically it's just a chromed dome, they do say American Racing on them but that's non essential. I tried contacting American Racing to see if they had any suggestions but they never got back to me. These are old rims, American Racing Hammers. I'm 90% sure they don't make them anymore.

Found some no-name replacements but..

..they're $44.50 EACH. :annoyed:

OEM used replacements are in the $70-$100 range, and usually they only have one.

:annoyed:x2

At those prices it's more cost effective to buy brand new wheels, than it is to put new center caps on old refurbished ones.

especially when brand new rims can be had for 40-65 a piece

Exactly.

It's hard to find rims I like that have both patterns though, and I'm NOT buying chevy only wheels. Damn Chevy's....

cragars wheels i think fit the ford 5 by 4-1/2 and the chevy 5 by 4-3/4

not only just the ones like on my truck. (which btw fit both chevy and ford) but alot of there rims

I'm also hesitant to spend money on this truck, since I plan on buying a different one next summer anyway.

I'm thinking about a Toyota Tacoma crew cab, since I need the space.

Right now they're retailing for about 15k, although a nice low mileage one will cost between 20 and 24.

Just to make it clear, I would MUCH rather have a Ranger. If the "new" ranger comes in a crew cab and isn't a unibody POS I will definitely hold off and get one of those. But I need a crew cab, or a car, next year. I would like to have a four door truck since it would give me the ability of not having two vehicles on the road. It's also going to need a good sized bed. I hate crews that shrink the bed down, the Tacoma doesn't do that (much) and it actually is a very adequately spaced vehicle.

In all honesty, I bought this S10 because of how good of a deal I'm going to get reselling it. But hey, it's my daily driver for the next year so I have to make it look good right? Hahaha.

Picked a stereo.

I'm going to research some double din conversions on Rangers before I commit though, I want to keep anything above $50 easily swappable to my Ranger, unless what I buy has a good resale value.

The main reason I'm going with this is because I think that a single din in the S10 looks like crap and I really want something with a USB input on the front if I go to a double din. I'll need an 03+ dash though. I saw a photo on an S10 forum of where a guy took the airbag switch (to the right of the stereo) and cut out a USB sized section of the dash so the USB from the rear goes right to the dash VIA a usb extension. It looked really good but I don't want to go through the trouble of doing that when I can just have one on the front anyway.

Dude what I don't know is a lot but, the yotas are great but could you not just extend and ext cab ranger and do it that way? I think it'd be awesome and had I your skills that's what I'd do.

I'm a yota fan.... So....
It'd be a big step up from a s10! Crew cab is nice for sure. Can get 4x4. The v6.

BOOOOOO!!!! No really BOOOOOO!!! I'm just kidding, but really??? boo

Me? Have skills? lol..

I would love to do that with a Ranger, but I would also have to lengthen the frame, driveshaft, etc etc and in the end it wouldn't be worth it. Not to mention that the doors would have to be 100% custom fab..

I'm a fan of their history of surpassing insane mileages. I'm going to read up on the newer ones though before I commit.
