Project Vader.

:icon_rofl::thefinger:

not much on my truck rattles.. not anymore. i addressed that.

I need to replace my drivers door panel and put some foam stuff on the rear glove boxes. The drivers door panel is all cracked and whatnot. After that my ranger will be moderately quiet. I do need to figure out why it's so STIFF. I'm assuming it's my skyjacker coils, I want to go to a taller coil that's softer and get rid of these stock height stiff coils. I don't like the idea of leveling by making less spring compression, or whatever it's called.

If you want to discuss all this more feel free to bring it up in my Ranger thread. :icon_thumby:

Every vehicle I've owned has had wind noise. My Zx2 was the worst.

oddly enough. every chevy ive owned or own had wind noise. but the ranger and the soon to be gone pt has none. go figure.

koda- you should've known there would be some bashing.....lol. oh well. i think we'll still claim you as long as you don't replace the ranger w/ a s10

let's keep this somewhat close to a build thread...

I fully expected it and will even join in on it. lol

I even said in the first post here that it's probably gonna get bashed.

Filled up again today. 18.4 mpg and I've been hammering on it.

I'll have to do some more figures before I can settle on an exact number.

I mocked up a wheel from the Ranger on my S10, they look pretty good on there IMO.

Opinions?

Eventually I would like to go to a newer style wheel. I'll make sure to get it in a universal 5 lug with 5x4.75 and 5x4.5 just so I can put it on my Ranger when the S10 blows up on me. These rims are American Racing Hammers from the early 90's, lol.

Here's how they look once you clean them up..

They DEFINITELY need it.

I think I'm gonna make an account on desertdimes.com and keep an eye on cool stuff for sale, maybe I'll get lucky and score some rims. Unfortunately most of the action is on the west coast.

I also started painting those fenders. I know it's gonna look like crap, but whatever, it's a beater.

i get that out of my b2.... :yahoo:

Some of the problems the truck had that would prevent me from getting an inspection were..

1)No horn.
2)Bald tires.
3)OBDII Code.
4)Cracked Windshield.
5)Halfass headlights.

1) Well, the horn was unplugged believe it or not. The guy must have unhooked it, set it on the engine, and lost it when he was changing the fenders. I found it in the middle of the engine bay, it belongs behind the fender under next to the wiper reservoir.
2)I have brand new tires, on rims that fit my S10.
3)The code was caused by... him not putting the bolt back on the intake tube when he changed the air filter. It popped off, the o-ring disappeared, and the intake tube flopped all over but looked like it was connected. One bolt and one throttle body o ring later I have no trouble codes.
4)Had a new windshield put in, wasn't that bad of a price.
5)The problem with the headlights was that one was bright, while the other was dim if working at all. Changing bulbs did nothing (I switched the bulbs side to side) and it wasn't a bad connection because wiggling the wires doesn't help. Five minutes on google revealed it was probably a bad fuse (go figure) and I replaced it with one of my spares from my axillary fuse block in the Ranger. Good thing I used mini ATC for that then huh?

I'm almost peachy for inspection. :)

Paint!

Looks a lot better. I was going to align the fenders better but now I see it's the way they're made. Damn cheap ebay fenders! I'll have to keep an eye out at the JY for a pair of fenders.
